Do I Help Minors (People Under 18 Years Of Age)?

Last Updated on 13 July 2021 by Leon Rowan

I usually do not provide any services to people under 18 years of age, even if accompanied by a parent, guardian, official or carer.
I have a Queensland Government issued Blue Card (holders of such cards are subject to an ongoing Police security clearance, vetting and monitoring) and thus legally work with unaccompanied minors, however there are several reasons, not all outlined here, I do not usually provide any services to people below the age of 18.
I first applied for a Blue Card on 13 September 2006.
Children like me, and I did extremely well as a step-parent (link to article in due course), despite having personally suffered from poor parenting (and from a nasty stepmother) myself. I dislike the idea of professionally working with children however, partly due to the type of deafness I have had since a small child, and within reason, I even avoid them in day to day life when I can, such as grocery stores soon after school hours.
The Blue Card system is a great initiative – we need to do all we can to protect children from predators. You may find some of the resources on my Anti Child Abuse page helpful (link to follow).
If parents, guardians or carers want children to benefit from my Subconscious Mind Change Therapy techniques, they can learn it themselves and then help the children with what they have learned.
